DANCE STYLES & DRESS CODE
2026/27 Season offerings

Contemporary & Creative Lab

Ages 8 to Adult (Contemporary), ages 12-17 (Creative Lab)

An extremely athletic style of dance, Contemporary training at XBa is an umbrella term which encompasses Ballet technique, Modern, Improvisation and Acro, all fused with XBa's unique and one-of-a-kind choreography.

Contemporary is an open and expressive form of dance that allows for freedom of movement, personal expression and physical release.

In Creative Lab:  Dance Improvisation & Show Design, dancers will be taught improvisation techniques to enhance their personal way of moving through challenges and games, and will have a hand in creating XBa's 2027 Year End Show.

Xtreme Ballet

Ages 8 to 17

The base of all dance training and what "XBa" stands for!

Xtreme Ballet was developed by XBa's founder Nela as a way to teach National and Olympic-level Figure Skaters Ballet technique without the pressure of a strict environment and examinations.  Set to current music, Xtreme Ballet ignores the traditional gendered technique of Classical Ballet and teaches all dancers the entire repertoire.

Xtreme Ballet supplements dancers' training with the development of strength, flexibility and endurance needed to maintain a proper dance form.
