Contemporary
Ages 8 to Adult
with Instructors Amadea & Nela H
An extremely athletic style of dance, Contemporary training at XBa is an umbrella term which encompasses Ballet technique, Modern movement, Lyrical dance, Improvisational movement and Acrobatics, all fused with XBa's unique and one-of-a-kind choreography.
Improvised Movement and Contemporary Pointe classes are also offered under the Contemporary umbrella.

Ballet
Ages 3 to 17

The base of all dance training, Ballet at XBa allows students to indulge in the pure beauty of this dance style. With no pressure of exams, students can experience the full spectrum of this gorgeous dance style.
Ballet at XBa supplements students' training with the development of strength, flexibility and endurance needed to maintain a proper dance form.

Hip Hop & Breakdance
Ages 5 to Adult
with Instructors Ryan Williams & Yarra Tsiakos
Hip Hop training at XBa encompasses all traditional styles, from its roots in Harlem in the 1970s as a social dance, to old and new school, to locking, popping, tutting and waacking.
Breakdance (or Breaking) is an energetic and acrobatic form of Street Dance, typically involving 4 main elements: toprock, downrock, power moves and freezes. Students are taught proper terminology and technique to prevent injuries. Breakdance has been officially inducted into the Olympics, and will make its debut in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Breakdance III / IV for ages 11+
Saturdays 11am-12pm
Adult Hip Hop for ages 18+
Saturdays 12-1pm
Hip Hop I for ages 5-7
Saturdays 1-2pm
Hip Hop II / III for ages 8-12



Diverse Abilities Dance
Ages 18+
with Instructor Yarra Tsiakos
The Diverse Abilities Dance class is for dancers aged 18+ that have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and offers and environment that fosters inclusion and equality in dance movement.
XBa is the only dance school in the lower mainland to provide these classes, and we have been proudly doing so for 20+ years.
Diverse Abilities Dance is on Saturdays from 2:30-3:30pm.
Trial Classes* will be offered from September 16th to 30th for a fee of
$25 per 1 hour class & $35 per 1.5 hour class
*excludes classes that are closed
